Slant at FutureProof Citywide: The Demo Drop Recap

Co-founder Max Metcalf's five-minute Demo Drop at FutureProof Citywide — and the one thesis behind it: for AI to matter to advisors, it has to be the CRM.
Last week, our co-founder Max Metcalf took the stage at FutureProof Citywide in South Beach to show thousands of advisors what an AI-native CRM actually looks like — five minutes, tons of features, one thesis.
The thesis: AI needs to know your client
Max opened with the question hanging over the whole industry: AI has changed everything for engineers, so why has its impact been slower for advisors?
His answer: relationships matter, and relationships are hard. For AI to be genuinely useful to an advisor, it can't just transcribe your meetings. It needs to know everything — the conversations you've had, the notes you've taken, and the person behind them. It needs to know that your client went to the University of Michigan, that he's a big Packers fan, that he has three kids and a mom in the hospital, and that he drinks more Diet Coke in a day than water.
The only way for AI to know all of that is to be the CRM. Not a point solution bolted on top — the system that holds the whole relationship. That's the bet Slant is built on, and the demo was five minutes of what it makes possible.
What Max showed
Nudges. Every day, Slant proactively surfaces things you should do to make client relationships better. The birthday nudge got the room's attention: it's 2026, and no client should ever get a canned template email again. Slant's version knows your client's wife makes sourdough bread and that you took him to a football game — and writes the email accordingly.
Enrichment that covers the whole family. Slant is the only CRM that auto-enriches every client and prospect in your book. For clients, it goes further and enriches the entire family tree — which means nudges when a family member gets a new job, buys a home, or passes away.
Reviews on autopilot. Review scheduling is a solved problem in Slant. The system knows your cadence by tier — A-tier twice a year, B and C once, touchpoints every quarter — and calculates every client's next review automatically. As Max put it: you should never have to type "show me my clients above $8 million I haven't talked to in three months" into a chatbot. Your system should already know, write the emails, and let you send them one-click.
Zero-work prospect prep. Max showed an automation that starts the moment a lead fills out the form on your website: an agent parses the contact, a research agent scours the web, and a fully prepped meeting document lands in your inbox. In the demo, a certain very famous industry figure filled out the form with nothing but a name and email — and Slant surfaced his home, his company, and the fact that he's a +2 handicap golfer with a second-place finish at Pebble Beach. That's meaningful prep for the first prospect meeting, which is arguably the meeting that matters most.
The mobile app. Announced live on stage and launching this week. Every record in Slant is centered on chat, and the mobile app brings that to the road: ask for quick facts before you walk in, or tell it "I'm running 20 minutes late, draft an apology" from the car and one-click send an email written in your voice. Book chat handles the questions that used to be unanswerable — like remembering which client mentioned their mom was in the hospital last week — in seconds.
The line that stuck
Over 300 firms have switched their CRM to Slant this year. But the point he landed wasn't about the tech.
Firms don't switch and stay happy because of features. They switch because our team lives the motto "relationships matter," and we work to treat every customer the way advisors treat their clients.
If you missed us in South Beach, the full demo is above. And if you want to see it live with your own book of business, book a demo — we'll show you why relationships matter.
